English source talkSPORT have revealed that Arsenal are preparing a bid for the Greek centre back Konstantinos Manolas. They claim that sources in Italy have revealed this.
The curse of the captain arm band continues at Arsenal as the Gunners have been losing their captains for the past few years in transfers. The latest addition to that list was Thomas Vermaelen who was sold to FC Barcelona for a rumoured fee of around £15million.
TMW claim that Arsene Wenger has made replacing the defender his top priority and he has already identified his transfer target: Manolas.
Manolas currently plays for Olympiacos and he is a regular starting XI player since joining them in 2012. The player was also part of the 23 men Greece squad which was among the last 16 in the World Cup in Brazil. Besides that, he has been capped 13 times by his international side.
Juventus, Napoli and Roma have also shown interest in the player but talkSPORT claim that Arsenal have the highest chances of signing him.
