talkSPORT have revealed that Premier League giants Arsenal and Manchester United will battle to sign Borussia Dortmund defender Mats Hummels. It comes as no surprise that JurgenKlopp has already said that they will not be selling Hummels. (You cannot stop these transfer mills, can you?)
German newspaper Bild claim that United have ‘rekindled’ their interest in Hummels after failing to sign Thomas Vermaelen. However, United will be challenged by Arsenal who are prepared to put forward a bid of €32m for the player.
Dortmund are doing everything in their power to make sure that Hummels stays. The German club has even made 25-year-old their captain and talkSPORT claim that this is a big sign that the player is very ‘comfortable’ at Dortmund.
JurgenKlopp has clearly issued a hands-off warning to Manchester United by openly stating in his post-match conference that Hummels will not be going anywhere.
However, Manchester United are not backing off that easily. The Red Devils are planning to make a €37.5m bid for the German international while hoping that this would be enough to sign the player.
