Manchester United midfielder Anderson has revealed that he tried to leave his club ‘many times’ but he failed to do so.
Anderson was signed by Manchester United in 2007 from Porto, but he has failed to establish as a first team regular player. His last two seasons at United have been marked by injuries too.
He was asked if he wanted to return to Portugal, and to it he replied that he wants to leave Old Trafford, but he is under the contract.
“What can I say? I have three more years of contract, I have tried to leave many times and never succeeded to do so,” he told Globo Esporte.
Though he last played for Brazil in 2008 and he would really like to play again, the midfielder is focusing on United’s second leg against Real Madrid at Old Trafford and their fight to win the Premier League title.
“The national team is always good but we have to think about the second leg and about the English league,” he added.
