Since Arsene Wenger claimed that Arsenal will not sign a striker, it was generally assumed that Alexis Sanchez will be Arsenal’s last signing of this summer. However, the transfer rumours generating mills state elsewise. The Metro have linked Napoli forward Eduardo Vargas with the Gunners.
For the last two years, Vargas has been performing very well. The Chilean has scored 13 goals for his national side in the last 17 games – including his significant goal against the previous World Cup Champions Spain. However, he has not really shined for Napoli.
The player has spent his last one season and a half with Gremio and Valencia respectively and it is being reported that Valencia want a permanent deal for the player.
It is being reported that Alexis Sanchez is trying to insist Arsene Wenger to sign the player. The player will be available at a low price of £10 million. However, Arsenal already have Olivier Giroud and YayaSanogo who have not yet established themselves in the Barclays Premier League so another non-established striker does not seem rational enough – especially for a man like Arsene Wenger.
