Arsenal are developing a tendency to sign German players lately with recently the club record signing being a German and arguable Arsenal’s best defense and young talent Mertasacker and Gnabry respectively being Germans.

Arsenal had links with Julian Draxler who is considered to be the best German talent alongside Goetze and Reus in the last summer transfer window and the interest seems to have been reignited as reports from Mundo Depertivo are claiming that Draxler is most likely to sign for The Gunners.

Draxler has a €45 million release clause in his contract and has not shied away from the fact he expects to transfer away from the club, simply stating that no move will happen in the January transfer window, a summer switch likely instead. The 20-year-old has four goals and five assists in 19 starts so far this season, while his average of 5.1 completed dribbles per game is the second highest in Europe behind Franck Ribery.

There is some debate among the fans as to where he will fit in at Arsenal, with Ozil playing in his preferred position. There is no doubt that his signing can turn the Gunners into a side capable of demolishing the strongest squads in the Premier League and in Europe, with terrific depth at every position.
