1000th Game: Ryan Giggs proud of his achievements!

It is expected that Ryan will make his 1000th appearance for club and country in Manchester United’s crunch tie against Real Madrid today at Old Trafford and Ryan Giggs is expecting this clash a classical one after losing his previous two encounters against Real Madrid .

Ryan Giggs is the only player left in the Manchester United’s  team who played in the previous two encounters between Manchester United and Real Madrid in 2000 and 2003.

In 2000 Manchester United lost 3-2 at Old Trafford after earning a goalless draw at   Bernabeu and In 2003 after shamefully losing the first leg by 3-1 at Bernabeu. United came back  strongly by 4-3 at Old Trafford but  lost on away goal.

About the clashes Giggs told the press that

“That night Real Madrid scored early and it was always going to be an uphill task. Hopefully that won’t happen again.”

“That game was an amazing night but not one I look back at fondly.”

“When you have that much firepower on the pitch there is always going to be the chance of goals. And it could be similar this time.”

Giggs is expecting his 1000th appearance a special one in the form of Manchester United advancement  but he is hoping that history may not repeat itself this time .

Giggs added

“As you get older you enjoy things a lot more and feel part of them a little bit more.”

“You never think you’ll get to 1,000 games and I’m proud of what I’ve done. I have worked hard.”
